We are so excited that you chose Abbotsford for your 2025 SERVE location! While in Abbotsford you will enjoy all that the West Coast has to offer - beautiful mountain scenery, fresh air, great hospitality, and so much more.

When you arrive

Welcome to Gateway Church—your home for Abbotsford SERVE!
As soon as you arrive, our amazing Host Team will be ready to greet you with big smiles and warm hospitality. Depending on your arrival time, you’ll be treated to a tasty lunch or a delicious snack to tide you over until dinner.

You’ll then be guided to your sleeping area so you can settle in and make yourself at home for the week. 


Saturday is all about relaxing and connecting.
It’s a chill day to unwind, meet the entire SERVE Team, play some games, and kick off the week with good vibes and new friendships.


Sunday kicks off with church at 10:00 AM right here at Gateway. After the service, we’re throwing a church-wide BBQ to officially welcome you to Gateway and the stunning Fraser Valley.


Then the real adventure begins…


Sunday afternoon you’ll join your assigned work groups for an epic photo scavenger hunt! You’ll explore some amazing local spots, have a blast with your team, and get a taste of what the Fraser Valley has to offer.

Accomodations

This awesome facility has everything you need to stay comfortable, have fun, and make the most of your week.


You’ll be staying in our cozy “Heritage Wing”—classrooms transformed into your own sleep space. Just bring a sleeping bag and pillow, and we’ve got you covered with a folding camping cot—so no sleeping on the floor! 


Mornings are a breeze with our spacious washrooms, complete with lots of mirrors—plenty of room for everyone to get ready without a rush. Showers will be available to keep you feeling fresh and ready for all the fun ahead.


But that’s not all!
We’ve got a huge field perfect for epic games, and every night our 150-foot slip and slide will be open for non-stop fun. And when you're ready to chill? Head to our games room featuring a pool table, air hockey, ping pong, and more.

Fun Day Away

Get ready for a coastal adventure at one of BC’s hidden gems—White Rock!
We’re heading to the ocean for a day of sun, sand, and seaside fun. Whether you're soaking up the sun, splashing in the waves, hunting for crabs along the shore, or exploring the charming streets and shops, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.


Bring your appetite!
You’ll be responsible for your own lunch, and $25 should be plenty for a healthy, delicious meal from one of the many tasty spots in town.


Bonus adventure?
If the SERVE Team is up for it, we might cap off the day with a scenic hike overlooking the stunning Fraser Valley. Think big views, fresh air, and unforgettable moments.

Your personal Mailbox

While you are at ABBOTSFORD SERVE you will have a personal mailbox. How cool is that! This mailbox can be used for the following:

  • Your prayer partner's words of encouragement and prayers
  • Team 'blessing' notes
  • Encouragement from your Team Leaders
  • Encourage for your Team Leaders
  • Moments of praise
  • And so much more.....

Packing List Extras – Don’t Forget These Must-Haves!
Of course, you’ll bring the usual travel essentials—but here are a few extra things that will make your SERVE experience even better:


👟 Indoor Shoes:
You will get messy out on those muddy worksites, so pack a clean pair of shoes just for indoors. Your feet (and our floors) will thank you!

🌊 Swim Gear:


 Get ready for some serious water fun! With beach day, a 150-foot slip-n-slide on the agenda, a swimsuit is a must. Don’t miss out on the water fun!


🧺 Laundry Access:
We’ve got on-site laundry to keep your work clothes fresh all week long! Just be sure to label your gear if you ever want to see it again.

    Marcel deRegt – Pastor of Faith Formation, Gateway Community CRC
    With over 25 years of experience in youth ministry, Marcel deRegt brings a deep passion for mentoring young people and nurturing faith in meaningful, lasting ways. He has led countless ministry trips and events, always infusing them with energy, purpose, and connection. Known for his fun and dynamic teaching style, Marcel makes faith come alive—challenging and inspiring others to grow, serve, and live out their calling with joy.

  • Jason McNabb - Worship Leader

    Jason McNabb – Pastor of Worship, Gateway Community CRC
    Jason McNabb brings a heart for worship and a gift for leadership to his role as Pastor of Worship at Gateway CRC. With years of experience guiding both large congregations and intimate gatherings, Jason creates meaningful worship experiences that draw people into God’s presence. His passionate and dynamic style invites all to engage deeply—whether through music, prayer, or reflection—as he leads with authenticity and a Spirit-led heart.
